Craig Neuhaus, Mayor of Staunton, visited CEO to discuss small business and community engagement.

Craig shared his personal story, “I was voted most likely not to succeed in high school.” To now having a successful career in the trades, owning real estate, and being the mayor of Staunton.

The team learned about the purpose of a TIF district and a Business District, sales taxes and property taxes, as well as what small towns can do to entice businesses and new residents to move in such as parks and infrastructure.

Life lesson for the team? “Always put people around you they are smarter than you.” Don’t silo! Partner with great people and great things follow!
