On Friday, November 8, 2025, Wayne County CEO students visited the Greenfield Country Store in Wayne City, Illinois. Owner and operator Rhoda Stauffer welcomed the class and shared how she came to own the store, as well as the many products and services she has introduced over the years.

Students toured the kitchen where homemade freezer meals are prepared and got a behind-the-scenes look at where the magic happens with all of the delicious baked goods — including the famous donuts and pretzels, available only on Saturdays! Rhoda treated the students to fresh maple nut rolls and offered valuable insight to those considering a baked goods business venture for the spring.
