Today we are celebrating Taylor Cahill from Mascoutah High School. Taylor will be attending McKendree University to study Marketing and Sports Management.

One of Taylor’s standout moments this year came after a site visit to Aspen Legal, where she was offered an internship opportunity. Reflecting back on that experience, Taylor shared, “I did not fully realize the impact this opportunity would have on me, but looking back, I am incredibly grateful that I accepted it.” Through that internship, she gained hands-on experience in marketing, brand development, and business research while continuing to grow both personally and professionally.

Taylor also reflected on an important lesson she learned about business this year: “Business is rarely a straightforward path. There are constant twists and turns, along with both successes and setbacks.” I love the maturity in that perspective because learning how to adapt, stay composed, and continue moving forward through challenges is such an important part of both business and life.

One of the biggest areas of growth Taylor recognized in herself was her communication skills. She shared, “I am now confident in carrying meaningful, insightful conversations in a variety of settings.” Watching students gain confidence in networking, interviews, and professional conversations is always one of the most rewarding parts of this program, and Taylor’s growth in this area has been so evident throughout the year.

Taylor also expressed gratitude for the investors who make this program possible, recognizing not only their financial support but also their belief in our students and their futures. I always love seeing students understand the value of community support and begin thinking about how they can one day give back themselves.

Taylor, congratulations on all you have accomplished this year. We are so proud of your growth, determination, and all that is ahead for you at McKendree University.
